Deepening Spirituality
Experienced musicians and painters sometimes go to a master class to get fresh ideas and pointers about their life work. This program of study, two retreats and an intensive immersion in matters of soul and spirit, is a master class for spiritual leaders, men and women of various backgrounds and affiliations—or no affiliation.
Its purpose is to deepen spiritual ministry of any kind. It is centered on personal contact with Thomas Moore, who has lived in a religious order, has degrees in theology and religion, has practiced a spirit/soul oriented psychotherapy for thirty years and has written almost twenty books on these subjects.
Rev. Wayne Walder has co-created the course with Thomas, drawing on his years of experience organizing educational programs and serving the spiritual needs of his congregation and his fellow ministers.
Spiritual leadership requires a special kind of education including knowledge of several fields and personal preperation in spiritual practice and maturity. The job involves teaching and counseling, leading ritual while creating and sustianing community.
This course will delve into the essentials of religion and explore ways of grounding and advancing spirituality. It will offer a sophisticated psychology that dovetails with an intelligent and grounded spiritual life. It will also try to help leaders with their own psychological and spiritual issues.
The course involves input from Thomas and Wayne and requires reading, reflection and dialogue. We will use dialogue as our main learning tool. Finally, we hope the course will deepen what we already know instead of trying to teach us more theories and skills.
Hopefully it will introduce us to future friends and resources.

I grew up in a working class neighborhood in Detroit, Michigan. My father taught plumbing and my mother was a housewife.
I have been a minister for about 10 years. Before that I ran a business for more than 20. I have always loved work and spirit and was able to combine them for many years.
